Dr. Fixit, from Pidilite, is one of India’s most trusted waterproofing brands. But with dozens of products across additives, coatings, mortars and sealants, choosing the right one can be daunting. Below we group the range by what each product is for.
1. Integral waterproofing additives
These are liquids mixed into concrete, mortar or plaster during construction to reduce permeability from within. Pidiproof LW+ is the best-known — a plasticising, integral liquid waterproofer that makes the mix more cohesive and improves the cured concrete’s water resistance. Use these on new work: foundations, RCC, plaster and brickwork.
2. Bonding agents & admixtures
When you need fresh concrete or plaster to bond to an existing surface — or a repair to key into old work — an SBR latex bonding agent such as Pidicrete URP is used. It doubles as a bonding coat and an admixture for repair mixes.
3. Liquid-applied membranes & coatings
This is the heart of the range for terraces and walls:
- Newcoat / Roofseal — heavy-duty, elastic acrylic terrace waterproofing membranes applied in multiple coats to form a seamless skin over the roof.
- Raincoat — an acrylic exterior-wall waterproofing and protective coating with crack-bridging and good weather durability, used on external walls to stop rain penetration.
- Cool Roof coatings — reflective white coatings that reduce heat gain in addition to protecting the surface.
4. Two-component (2K) elastomeric coatings
For water tanks, sumps, terraces and wet areas that need a tough, highly flexible barrier, a cementitious two-component coating such as Pidifin 2K is used. These cure to an elastomeric film and some grades are certified for potable-water tanks.
5. Crack fillers & repair mortars
Before any coating goes down, cracks must be sealed. Products such as Crack-X pastes and polymer-modified repair mortars and micro-concretes handle everything from hairline cracks to structural repair.
6. Injection grouts, sealants & primers
For active, pressurised leaks, PU and epoxy injection grouts are pumped into the structure. PU and silicone sealants handle expansion joints and gaps, while dedicated primers prepare surfaces for coatings.
